Vlads Implosion

With The Tokers power and hunger being strong in Vlad The Inhalers ranks, The Volatile was fading more in The Impalers Ranks. The Toker was asked to join The Impaler again as well, and The Volitile was realeased of duty.

While The Whip and The Beholder were in Jersey City, The Enforcer, The Watcher, and The Toker were down the Jersey Shore. There were to be two practices a week to accomadate everyone travel wise. But most importantly, with the JC practice in a studio, and the other practice at the Enforcers home, the latter would let the Enforcer actually use his own equipment, being that it was set up differently then the Drum Set at the studio, The Enforcer needed this time on his own equipment, plus the fact that his equipment was superior and offered more versatility in his playing.

Now stronger and sounding more full musically then ever. The Vlad Unit became a machine and started to really start making headway on their mission. It was time to start telling the masses, and a gig was booked.

With the gig ahead The Enforcer requested that the group actually start doing what the origional plan was, and go to a twice a week rehearsel scedule. Although this had been agreed upon it was never actually carried through. Up until now all the practices were in the JC Studio, and The Enforcer really wanted to be on his own set with the band, at least once a week.

With this request and a forth comming gig, The Whip vanished. To this day noone knows if foul play was involved by Vlad Enemies, or he just went AWOL. The gig was cancelled and rescheduled.

The Whip was found and rehersal resumed at the studio once a week, but moral was deflated in The Watcher and The Toker due to the mysterious dissappearance of The Whip, and his not being able to commit to a jam not in his backyard. This prompted The Watcher to start questioning the bands stability and dedication, and he started to take rehearsals lightly as well.

The show was played, and sounded great. Although Vlad was the opening band, and brought no fans with them other then a handful, they were the talk of the night. The singer in the band that followed actually broke his leg on stage totry to upstage Vlad, but was only laughed at for his efforts. The night closed and everyone was in agreement that the power was with Vlad.

After the show a car accident destroyed The Enforcers Nissan and severly damaged his drum set. This definately put a damper on the night but Thank God noone was severly injured.

With the show over The Watcher exited. He had decided after The Whips earlier dissapearance just weeks before a show that he himself would do the show, then leave. He felt it was not worth the time investment to deal with these types of things.

Still weary of The Whips actions, and withe the departure of The Watcher, The Toker made a few more practices but feeling the same as The Watcher had felt, faded away.

Vlad The Inhaler now had his origional Triad, but was weak. The Enforcer went to an old friend. The unofficially named Vlad The Wall had been playing music for years, and had always wanted to jam with The Enforcer. The Enforcer had tried to bring in The Wall earlier as a keyboard player, but The Wall kept his keyboarding skills to himself. With a bassist needed The Wall was brought in.

This new face brought new dimension to Vlad. Rehearsels were now once a week in the Woodbridge area. In the middle of both parties to accomadate. The Spider Drumset was still laid up, so for now this would be the shedule. The Inhaler was pleased with The Wall, and work began.

At this point The Enforcer decided to drop The Mystical Minstrels name for the cover aspect of Vlad. It was The Enforcers creation with The Watcher, and was never appreciated by The Inhaler anyway. The Inhaler name would just be used to do covers and origionals.

Vlad grew in strength slow but sure, and the new lineup although one less was looking like it would suffice. But it would take time,as it always does when you need to replace a band member. Vlad was starting from scratch again about 8 years into its existance.

Frustrated by starting fresh yet again this late in the game, Vlad The Inhaler had its final implosion.

Vlad The Impaler disbanded.

Vlad The Beholder moved out of state.

Vlad The Whip got engaged.

Vlad The Enforcer was contacted a bit later by The Wall asking to reform. The Whip had also contacted The Enforcer asking to reform. The Enforcer wanted to reform but knew it wouldn't be the same without The Beholder. But nonetheless The Enforcer still wanted to jam.

The Enforcer wrote, placed and payed for ads in The Aquarian to get new members to join the cause. He created flyers and took them to local and non local music stores. He spent HOURS on the phone with applicants, talked to many musically inept people, narrowed it down, and made meetings. Although The Whip and The Wall were asked to help in the process, they were too busy. When asked to come to the meetings of who The Enforcer had narrowed it down to, they were nowhere to be found. Jams were set up with prospects, and a pre jam for The Enforcer, The Whip, and The Wall to brush up.

The Whip got drunk at the practice, The Wall got pissed and said "That was just stupid." Stating that it was a waste of his time, which The Enforcer couldn't argue, The Wall declared he would show up to jam once a full band was in place, but wanted nothing to do with the interview process, or drunken melees.

Annoyed about the fact that The Enforcer had lost The Wall as an allie in dealing with applicants he also understood The Walls position knowing he had a family and his own business, and didn't have time to get together and have drunken instrament changes at a jam. Although The Enforcer could have done without the drunken melee as well.

The Enforcer narrowed it down to a new guitarist who sounded promising. Other then the fact that the guy liked to talk and had already taken up about six hours on the phone of The Enforcers time.

The jam was set, The Enforcer contacted The Whip and The Wall. He finalized the date with the prospect. He agreed to drive up to JC to pick up The Whip. This was to be a glorious day. Hours before the jam The Enforcer called The Whip, to make sure after an hour in travel, The Whip would be ready. No Answer. After several tries, The Enforcer cancelled the jam. Another few hours on the phone with the new guy.

The Wall now was extremely frustrated, as was The Enforcer, in case you hadn't guessed.

A second attempt was made, and a jam set up. Same thing.

The Wall was not gonna bother anymore after all this, and The Enforcer had had enough as well. After months of The Enforcers work, he called the prospect and said "I guess these guysjust don't want to do it now. They contacted me to reform this band, I did all the work, and they cant even make a practice. Sorry I wasted your time."

And that was that.

To close this off, Vlad The Inhaler was probably the most unique band you ever would have heard. They spit in the face of classifications and genres, and basically pulled influences from any genre you can think of and meshed them together. The edge was heavy, but you never know what would have been mixed in the pot. Disco, Techno, Thrash, Classic Rock, Classical, Psycadelic, Orchestral, Rap, Reggae, Funk, Punk, Noise, Silence, Banter, and Poetry. An experience with many unfinished ideas of songs, films and stage shows, Vlad The Inhaler could have been a major presence in the music industry, as well as even film. Thats why I, Vlad The Enforcer, gave it so many chances. Unfortunately it is the type of band experiance that you'll never top musicwise, as I have tried to deal with other musicians, but most are stuck in one genre, and are ultimately 'wanna bes".

I The Enforcer and I believe The Beholder, felt a true mission to bring this experience to the world. But that just was not the case.
